One of the most traditional foods that all of us know is the muffin. We all remember the delicious aroma of fresh baked muffins on a Sunday. These delicious baked goods come in a variety of delicious flavors such as blueberry, banana and even chocolate. For those of us who want to include essential fiber into our diets we can eat high fiber muffins. This is an excellent means of getting children to eat enough fiber. If the fiber is in a delicious muffin they will not even notice that anything is different. Give your family a treat and bake them some muffins with fiber.

High Fiber Muffins A Good Source

We have all been exposed to the media, lectures, Internet information, our local doctor has most likely spoken to some of us at length about the benefits of proper nutrition and diet. We are told each day about what foods we should eat, why we should eat them and the many benefits eating properly hold for us. Fiber is of critical importance in our diet as we need fiber to help our digestion, it is a good source of various vitamins and fiber aids us in maintaining good health. We all know this, but far too many of us still think of fiber and sawdust as tasting the same.

The trick is to find good sources of fiber that tastes good and make us want to eat more of it. With a little thought we can find many ways to incorporate extra fiber into our daily diet; think of the things you like to eat, make a list of these and then find out how you can take those favorites of yours and make them healthier by making versions of them that contain more fiber. That way you get healthy and tasty at the same time.

There is no real difference between how you make high fiber muffins from regular muffins. Instead of refined flour, you use high fiber flour and the same with any other ingredients you normally use. You eat them in exactly the same way; there are no special rules for high fiber muffins. They are just so much healthier and taste good.

The next time you walk around in your local supermarket; have a look at the packaging for muffins. You will find that high fiber muffins are clearly market and on the same shelves as regular muffins.

If you want high fiber muffins with extra health ingredients, you can go to your local health store for those. You still have to read the labels for not all muffins in health stores are high fiber, for health shops cater to many different health aspects.

If you like baking you can have lots of fun experimenting with regular muffin recipes. You can take the basic ingredients from regular recipes and substitute high fiber flour for a start. Then start experimenting with different ingredients, add fruit or nuts, try making oatmeal muffins that will be high fiber and as you become more experienced you will find many ingredients to add to create great tasting and extremely healthy muffins.
