Very often, the reason for getting no fiber is because you are living on processed foods. Processed foods are very often the ready cooked frozen meals from the supermarket. Another killer source of processed food is the much loved taking out joint. It is so easy to use a drive-through instead of shopping for fresh ingredients and cooking a nutritious meal. Using high fiber fresh fruit and vegetables to makes simple salads and soups is not hard to do.

There are lots of alternatives though that is high in fiber and much better for your health than processed and fast foods. Fruits and vegetables are good alternatives. They are ready to eat when you buy them and they are easy to carry around. On top of this they are healthy, high in fiber and give you a sustained boost. Foods that are high in sugar, especially refined sugar, will give you a short term boost but generally leaves you feeling drained and tired when the boost wears off.
