But if you slice fresh fruit over your oatmeal it is an excellent source of fiber.  Eating fiber every morning will get your system to function in a regular cycle.  Getting rid of waste matter is a means of keeping our bodies healthy.  Fresh fruit is a natural body cleanser and if you eat it unpeeled you will get a good dose of fiber.  Fortunately fresh fruit tastes very good and there is hardly a person who does not enjoy eating fruit.<span id="more-43"></span></p>
<p><strong>High Fiber Fruit Tastes Good</strong></p>
<p>Most diseases caused by a lack of fiber in a person’s diet will only manifest in old age.  Eating a high fiber diet will reduce your chances of contracting these diseases.  One way of adding more fiber to your diet is to add high fiber fruit.  Recently government health organizations and the media have reinstated their calls for people to increase their fiber intake in order to combat conditions like obesity and diseases like colon cancer and irritable bowel syndrome. <p>Most products in grocery stores have nutritional labels on them.  Unfortunately fruit seldom carry a label.  You can identify high fiber fruit at sight.  Think about the difference between an avocado and a watermelon.  A watermelon consists of mostly sugary water.  The skin of the watermelon is fiber rich but is very bitter to eat.  An avocado on the other hand consists of strands of green plant material.  This plant material is the indigestible fiber.  Another example of a high fiber fruit is a mongo.  Just by the texture of a mango you can tell that is rich in fiber.  Other fruits include grapefruits and kiwi fruit.</p>

<p>Fruit and vegetables are readily available sources of fiber.  The problem is that most people are very busy and so prefer processed and fast foods.  This leads to people not getting enough fiber.  Fiber is important because it helps to move food through your digestive system.  It also pushes out waste that accumulated in your intestines.  A high fiber diet is recommended for people with diabetes and high cholesterol.  It also relieves symptoms associated with diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and diarrhea.  You do not to suffer from any of these diseases to benefit from a high fiber diet though.</p>
<p>A high fiber cereal is the ideal way to start the day.  If you eat a high fiber cereal in the morning than a big part of the battle is already won.  By adding some high fiber fruit into your diet during the day, you will have more energy and keep you fuller for longer so you will snack less on unhealthy fast foods.</p>
<p>If you cannot find the time to include enough fiber rich food into your diet, then you should consider buying some supplements.  There are many types of fiber supplements to fulfill different lifestyle needs.  You can buy gum powder that you can mix with water and drink like a shake.  You also get seed husks that you can eat raw and chase down with a glass of water.  You can also buy high fiber snack bars if you are constantly on the go.</p>
