If you have been advised to start eating high fiber bread you may think you are going to have to eat the same bread over and over. This is quite untrue because there are many different kinds of high fiber bread to choose from. You will be able to have a different flavor every day if you choose. There is bread for sandwiches as well as loaves that are sweet like a delicious banana or raisin loaf. Many high fiber breads have nuts and seeds and even olives and peppers. You can see that eating fiber need not be boring.

High Fiber Bread Nutritious

With “all natural” and “organic” health foods becoming more and more possible these days, adding high fiber bread into your diet is an essential. Bread is staple food that is universal to nearly every culture in the food. Because most people eat bread in some form every day, it makes sense to eat only the most healthy, high quality bread possible. Breads with high fiber will certainly have a tremendous impact on your overall health.

Not All Loaves Are High Fiber Breads

As food has become more and more processed and mass-produced, bread has become less nutritious. Whereas “rustic” bread is made with whole grains which are comprised of complex carbohydrates, the advent of “white bread” – clearly the most popular type of bread eaten in America today – has removed all of the vitamins and nutrients from the equation, since white bread is made only with refined flour. This refined flour also lacks the necessary fiber needed for people to keep their blood sugar and digestive system properly regulated.

Additionally, it isn’t only what white bread lacks, but also what it contains that can be dangerous to your health. Mass production of these breads often requires the use of added hydrogenated fats that can lead to heart disease. This combined with other additives and preservatives, make white bread healthy and unnatural.

The good news is that rustic, high fiber breads have never disappeared from the local grocery store or bakery, and now the rising popularity of eating whole grain foods is bringing high fiber bread back into the public eye. Browse the bakery section of your local supermarket or bakery and you’ll find plenty of high fiber options alongside white breads. Any bread or rolls labeled as “wheat,” “rye,” “multi-grain,” or “pumpernickel” indicate the use of unrefined flour of some sort. Also, some white breads will also be labeled as “whole grain.” These white breads have been baked using white flour that still contains some remnant of the grain itself, or they have nutrients added into the flour mixture.

In an effort to keep up with the high fiber trend mass-produced white bread manufacturers have begun to offer high fiber alternatives to their normal line of bread products. While these breads do have improved fiber content, many of them still contain high levels of preservatives and chemicals, unlike freshly baked high fiber bread. Also, high fiber breads are typically of a much different consistency, with thicker crusts than processed white bread.

Whether you choose to purchase high fiber breads from a bakery or opt for a high fiber white bread, it is advisable to make this switch in your daily diet. Rather than turning to sugar in your bloodstream, high fiber, multi-grain breads will control your blood sugar and make you feel more energetic throughout the day.

There is only one way to keep healthy and this is by having a balanced diet. If you want your diet to be balanced then make certain that you eat plenty of high fiber low calorie foods. This will mean that you must stock up on fresh foods such as fruit and vegetables. Eat lots of fresh salad. A balanced diet would be varied and would have to include whole foods. Whole foods are nutritious and contain high fiber. It is very worthwhile to get advice from a nutritionist or search for an online nutritionist. Your health and weight go hand in hand.

High Fiber Low Calorie Foods If You Choose Health

Good health is the right of all people, most of us are born perfectly healthy and there is so much each of us can do to continue this good health throughout our lives. There are so many serious and sometimes fatal diseases that we can avoid. Diabetes is a killer disease that often can be avoided; it limits your quality of health and you have to take chronic medication for the rest of your life. The reason many of these often-avoidable diseases have taken on epidemic proportions in our modern society is that we bring it upon ourselves with the refined, low fiber and high calorie foods that make out our average daily diet.

It is not difficult to change your eating habits. Start your day by having oatmeal or other cereal as these are high in fiber and low in calories. Oatmeal is one of the best foods to kick-start your digestive system as it contains a great deal of fiber. If you are not fond of oatmeal, it is advised that you browse the cereal isles in your local supermarket and read the ingredients listing on each of the packages of cereal. You will soon get to know which cereals are good for you and which will simply load you up with empty calories.

High Fiber Low Calorie Foods Are Tasty

Many of our dietary problems come from forming bad habits. The horrible part of this is that once something has become a habit in your life it can be very difficult to break that habit. We become fast food junkies when we lack time to prepare food, or we just don’t feel like cooking. We never give a thought to the low fiber, high calorie foods we eat and then we convince ourselves that food that is good for us do not taste as good as the fast foods. That is utter nonsense; fruit and vegetables, low calorie foods and foods high in fiber taste just as good and you will be healthy, have more energy and not end up having your arteries clogged with fat deposits.

We all like sandwiches; you simply need to change your type of bread to wholegrain bread that is high in fiber. It tastes great, is far more filling than refined bread and you can stack delicious sandwiches that will be the envy of your colleagues or fellow students.

All it takes is a change in attitude towards food for you to start on the path to good nutrition and better health. Take a few minutes and think about how you will feel if you are healthier, have more energy, a clearer skin and a body that is fit and functions properly. A switch to high fiber, low calorie foods will do this for you without much effort on your part.

It is not only adults that require high fiber in their food. Children also need to eat this essential ingredient. Do you know what your children eat during the day? Are they getting fattening, over processed canteen food? If this is the case then you should consider packing wholesome snacks. With a little thought and planning your children could be eating wholesome food every day. A hearty high fiber bread sandwich with tuna and a homemade fruit salad will fill the gap. Be sure to pack in carob coated raisins just in case. This kind of home packed lunch will provide plenty of fiber.

High Fiber For High Health

Even before modern science confirmed it, people have included large amounts of fiber in their diets for centuries as a means of properly regulating their digestive systems. Particularly within the colon and intestines, the indigestibility of fiber – a result of cellulose, the material that plant matter is comprised of – encourages the digestive system to remain active, thus purging the body of toxicity and waste. Most people assume that they get enough fiber in their diets on a daily basis, but for many people this is not true. For most people it is necessary to add high fiber foods into their diets.

The digestive process begins as soon as food enters the mouth. Believe it or not, saliva begins to break down food as soon as it is swallowed. High fiber foods contain two kinds of fiber – soluble and insoluble. Whereas soluble fiber flows through the digestive system quickly and is easily broken down, insoluble fiber is impossible to digest. This insoluble fiber creates bulkier stool that passes more easily from the body and helps to control diarrhea and constipation. In addition, eating more high fiber foods exhorts the body to burn more calories in order to get rid of it.

High Fiber In Your Diet

A variety of foods contain high levels of fiber. As a result, it is now much easier to get the right amount of fiber needed to feel your best. It’s important to remember that fiber is a naturally occurring ingredient in many foods that are widely available. Foods such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grain are all excellent sources of fiber. Of course, the amount of fiber varies greatly within all of these food groups, and you should thoroughly research them before making any decisions. Much of this information is available online.

In addition, there are some simple substitutions that can be easily added into your everyday diet. Whole grain bread is an excellent and delicious option when looking to increase your daily fiber intake. Raw carrots, apples, and raisins are also delicious choices and offer a much healthier option than “junk food” like potato chips.

Another option for adding fiber into your diet can be found with fiber additives. These additives can be added directly into food, or some of them can be mixed with water and made into a tasteless drink. Although these alternatives improve a person’s fiber intake, they often do not provide a full dose of fiber that is needed for proper digestion.

Although there are many new fads in the nutritional health craze today, addressing the high fiber issue is clearly an essential priority for anyone who is serious about their health and nutrition. The little bit of effort you’ll need to make in order to find the righ

For those of us who have not given much though to what we eat and are still in reasonably good health should be very thankful. It is no too late for us to make the right choices concerning healthy eating in order to keep or improve the level of our health. To do this does require that we include fiber in our diet. Foods containing both high and low fiber is essential. Only those of us who have certain medical conditions should eliminate high fiber foods. It is never too late to take control of our eating habits. If necessary seek advice from your doctor.

Low Fiber Diet Not As Effective As High Fiber

Keeping your digestive system healthy as very important as it most often influences us during the day and can make a major change in our overall health. One way to find out if your diet is beneficial for your digestive system is to check your fiber intake. Having too little fiber in your diet can affect your health and the way you feel. The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for fiber is a good way to check whether or not you’re getting enough of it in your daily diet.

With so many over processed foods on the market and the trend to eat more than our bodies require, it is easy to have a deficiency in our diet when it comes to fiber. This because many of these foods cut out the beneficial properties that are found in natural plant foods such fruits, vegetables and grains. The majority of natural unprocessed plant foods contain a high percentage of fiber that is necessary to help maintain digestive health.

A major diet overhaul isn’t always necessary to include the recommended amount of fiber. Simply adding some vegetables such as carrots and potatoes to meals already raises your fiber intake. Fruits such as apples, pears, peaches and similar fruits can be eaten with the skin which contains a lot of fiber that is good for your digestive system. When buying bread, choose a bread that contains whole grain as this is healthier and contains more fiber than typical white breads or fine grain breads.

A lack of fiber can aggravate problems with digestive health such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS a condition that is rising in developed nations and is becoming more and more common in our stressful lives. The symptoms of IBS include regular constipation or diarrhea or a combination of both as well as a feeling of bloatedness as well as discomfort. Adjusting your diet and increasing your fiber intake can make a big difference in managing this condition. For some people this simple adjustment in their diet is enough so that they don’t have to take any additional medication to manage the condition.

Another condition related to digestive health is diverticulosis. This potentially life threatening condition is caused when pockets are formed within the intestinal wall. If untreated, it can progress to diverticulitis which is very painful. This results when food is trapped within the pockets. The trapped food can become enflamed causing a serious infection usually requiring the treatment of antibiotics and, in very serious cases, the intervention of surgery.

Switching to a high-fiber diet won’t necessarily remedy these conditions for everyone, but can help to improve them and lessen the complications and secondary symptoms that are associated with them.
